5 Things Making Me Happy Right Now

5 happy things5 happy things5 happy things5 happy thingsYou’re about to get a big dose of good viiibes thrown your way. I need this shit sometimes – I need to write it and I need to read it, stuff that can make you remember that really, life is decent. I’m that person that wastes an hour watching ‘this will restore your faith in humanity’ type videos on YouTube for a happiness boost… Buuuut happiness spreads happiness, and right now I want to share some your way. Big and small, these are the things that are making me happy right now…

A Style Refresh

Nothing major, but I have been trying to update my wardrobe recently. I’d got into the easy habit of dressing in work wear 24/7, always opting for something smart and from a limited colour palette. I guess I was just feeling like I was dressing way too old before my time – I’m an old soul, but I’d like to think there are still years ahead of me where I can pull off candy floss pink! I’ve recently gone back to more girly skirts, florals and some colour… It feels so good to be getting out of my typical black jeans, basic shirt uniform.

Breaking The Back of Winter

We did it. We saw winter through in Primark’s Super Cosy Tights and three jumpers. Praaaise the Lord. Okay, there’s a while to go until we all start moaning about how bloody hot it is, but we’re definitely through the worst of winter. It always amazes me how much a bit of sun on my skin can completely change my mood, and a few warmer days have made me feel happier than ever! I think I do get SAD over winter, so I’m loving the lighter evenings, a bit of sunshine and the prospect of summer on the horizon.

The Secret

For general happy vibes, I always try to go back to The Secret. If you’ve not read it, it’s basically all on the Law of Attraction, and how positive thinking can change how your life plays out. While I can’t sit here and say I’ve used it to will a 50K BMW into my life, I do think it’s altered my outlook, and has helped me quit being a complete negative Nancy.

I do find it tough to preach about when life is being a flop, but once I’ve got through the ‘woe is me’ part, I like a flick through The Secret to make sure I’m really back on track.

Breakfast Dates

I don’t think I’d ever turn down a trip out for breakfast. All breakfast food makes me happy, and dates at my favourite breakfast spots are something I always look forward to. I’d actually just been to Craft & Dough for pancakes when we took these pictures – any blogging trip has to involve a food based treat!

If you’re Sheffield based, a few other favourites include Tamper, Nonna’s when we’re up Eccy Road and The Depot for cakey-bun good stuff.

Skincare Updates

A skincare change hasn’t been ground-breaking for happiness, but I am feeling a lot better about my skin these days, and that’s partly down to learning to enjoy skincare products… Now I actually like giving my skin some TLC! I always feel so much better for it, squeaky clean and refreshed. Yup, I’ll forever still be the girl that wakes up on Sunday with a smoky eye and ombre lip, but I also look forward to treating my skin right. I’ve just uploaded a video with my typical routine for a skincare pick me up, and I’ve also got a few new products from L’Oreal and Decléor to try over the next few weeks. Girls night required ASAP.
