Keeping Blogging Positive

casual outfit bloggingcasual outfit bloggingcasual outfit bloggingcasual outfit bloggingAs we know, I’m always up for a moan about blogging. It’s grown so much over the years that I think we all find bits of it a little odd – remember the simple days before rate cards, Instagram algorithms and cameras that weren’t half as fancy?! As it’s become a bigger, the pressures have increased, and at times I’ve found blogging quite negative. If you’re not comparing yourself to another blogger, you’re stressing over lacking photography skills, or wondering why no bugger read the post you spent ages on. It can be a pressurised environment, where we are somewhat pitched against each other, based on numbers and appearance and whether or not we got the wording right.

The good bits of blogging are hella good, on hand to outweigh all the negatives, but I do find it so easy to get caught up in these moans and groans. And that’s where I wanna push the positivity, and keeping it alive in blogging.  Nope, not suggesting we all walk around with Jedward’s enthusiasm, but we can share a little extra love – comment more, talk about our favourite blog posts, give our most loved bloggers a bigger pat on the back. I think that’s the best way to keep blogging positivity going, and I know it’s given me a huge boost when I’ve needed it.

It’s something I’ve seen more of since Instagram did put that bloody algorithm in, but it’s nice to think that it can transfer through blogging as a whole. We can all help each other out here and there – sometimes we just need a little boost to get back from negative vibes surrounding blog stuff.

Recently, I’ve actually tried to be a better, happier blogger, sharing more of this positive stuff. For a long time, I’ve been the classic ‘why won’t you tell me where your New Look skirt is from’ girl on Instagram. It wasn’t something I did consciously, in fact, I don’t really even know why – I guess I’ve just been happy to post what I post then disappear off into my little bubble, and working full time means I’m limited time wise. Buuut, I knew I could be a nicer blogger… Now I’m making sure I reply and give a little bit of love back. People can be so nice online, and when they’ve taken the time to say something lovely, I wanna appreciate that and share some positivity back their way.

Here’s to keeping blogging a happy place.

Yes Lydia! Love this, I try to reply to my blog comments too when I get a chance – it’s nice to have a real conversation with other bloggers sometimes. xx

I love this so much! I am new ish to the blogging world. This time around I have only been blogging for about 6 months but I had a YouTube channel waaaay back about 4.5 years ago now! And I remember how it used to be back then – it is so easy to get caught up in the little things but ultimately the community is why I do it and I’m sure it’s the same for lots of us 🙂 xx

This outfit looks so comfy! Although we’ve not had our blog for long, we totally feel that blogging should all be about sharing positivity and building a community. xxx

I love that you voice your blogging opinions and also are very honest about them Lydia . I agree, blogging has changed a lot in the last few years and it is hard to not compare yourself to other bloggers, hell I do it all the time and it is very negative I agree, everyones just unique in their own way, cliche as it may sound but spreading positivity makes all the changes and its nice to see bloggers spreading the love, after all were all just like friends, internet friends 🙂

Yes, couldn’t agree more! I’ve fallen away from commenting and blogging in last few months as it’s was bringing me down a bit. I’m back with a new attitude and this sums up perfectly.
