HERE’S TO MINI BREAKS
Okay, time for a quick update as I get into the swing of blogging. I’m now back at work after a week’s holiday, and while it wasn’t planned, I also had a break from posting. No particular reason, but I didn’t want to spend my time off worrying about fitting in blog pictures in. To be honest, I feel like there’s more than enough of me on the internet anyway! It’s a lot easier to quickly update Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and Instagram Stories, whereas blogging I like to sit down and be really into it. I love writing a good blog post, so it’s not something I want to do half arsed.
I didn’t actually go on holiday while I was off, instead just needing a bit of time to ‘potter’… There’s only so much life admin you can get done on a weekend! Last year I had a week in Menorca then used the rest of my days off on blog stuff, so I was long over due time to just chill! My week involved Guardians of the Galaxy (LOVE), waaay too much food (now doing the jumping about dance to get jeans on) and cute day trips (if you’re in the area, Chatsworth’s House Style exhibition is loverrrly). It couldn’t have been cuter… Sometimes you just need a few lazy mornings, some daytime TV and a good afternoon nap.
More, I know. It’s never ending! One of the main things I’ve been doing while having time off was home updates. We’ve gone past the major stuff, but there are still all those faffy bits and bobs jobs to complete. I used to watch DIY programmes and wonder how you’d spend 6 years with one unpainted bit of skirting board. Now I get it. Ha. While I didn’t do anything major, I ended up feeling really productive, finally getting things to feel homelier by sticking up a few pictures (the picture ledge above my bed included), adding new accessories and updating my storage. I’ve got a video to share on YouTube over the weekend with a few recent additions, so keep an eye out for that.
Aaaand a mention of love for polka dots. This H&M shirt I’m wearing here has started me off. I got it a few weeks back, wanting something I could wear day to night… I’ve worn this in both cases, including this week for a shopping trip. I just feel like polka dots can be the best combo of girly and smart. Alongside gingham, it’s one of my favourite prints this season.
