A girly weekend with my ma is alwaaays going to be one of my favourite things. Whether we’re window shopping or treating ourselves, I love a trip out to wander round the shops, have lunch and generally set the world to rights. My mum is my go-to shopping buddy (we usually like the same things) so I had to bring her along for a little visit at East Midlands Designer Outlet.
We had our usual plan scheduled – shopping, coffee, more shopping, lunch. Our shopping trips do tend to revolve around food too. It’s always good to come home with a belly full of pizza and a car boot full of purchases!
Uhum. I went a little bit crazy when I realised The Cosmetics Company Store had recently opened. Hellooo discounted MAC, Bobbi Brown and Estée Lauder! There’s so much to have a good nosey through, with all beauty bases covered. I went with a MAC blush in the end, as well as Origins body scrub and a couple of Clinique gift sets as presents. I think I saved myself a good 25 quid, and ended up with a few products I wouldn’t normally justify – while the price tag was lower I stocked up!
THE START OF CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
Usually, I plan in a trip to East Midlands Designer Outlet to start off my Christmas shopping. Anyone else already underway with present buying?! I managed to get a few bits to get things going, with a couple of people already ticked off my list.
These days, I’d rather buy my friends and family one bigger thing that they’d really like, rather than loads of little bits of rubbish. Admittedly, that does make my life easier… But I do think it’s nice to have one special present to open! The likes of Calvin Klein and Nike at EMDO are perrrfect for that kind of parcel, plus you can find some amaaazing discounts in their stores.
I actually ended up in Levi’s and Yankee Candle for my presents – I got something sorted for my other half and the whopping Yankee candles for Grandparents. Alongside that I always pop into the Lindt store… It’s a struggle to not just buy a whole load of chocolate for myself, but I managed to stick to chocolate bunnies, teddy bears and Santas to use as stocking fillers. If I can get the whole Christmas shopping debacle sorted by November I’ll be a happy (and stress free!) girl!
